"Before I joined LoopEd Youth Dance company I was very narrow minded about dance and about life, LoopEd has allowed me to grow and see the possibilities within dance and the benefits it can give to society. Without LoopEd I wouldn’t be where I am today"
Harriet Parkour-Beldeau - Studying at Laban and former member of LoopEd YDC
LoopEd Youth Dance Company is a contemporary dance company for young people consisting of a group of talented and passionate young people who are committed to dance. The company was started by Loop Dance Company in 2006 to give young people in Kent the opportunity to practice and perform contemporary dance together with the support of professional dancers.
Members of the company are expected to attend weekly classes and a number of intensive workshops throughout the year. LoopEd YDC dance workshops concentrate on improving technique, learning new dance styles and working with the professional company on a variety of creative projects e.g dance film, site specific work.
Weekly Technique Classes
Members of LoopEd YDC are required to attend a weekly technique class, taught by a member of Loop Dance Company (professional). These classes are term time only. The classes are used to build strength, technique and stamina and give the dancers the opportunity to work together as a company. Therefore it is imperative that company members attend a weekly class or their place in the company may be in jeopardy.
Cost: £55 per term (£165 a year)
Bursaries are available for children who receive top EMA and free school meals
Class location and time:
* Mondays, 5 – 6.30 pm at the Brook Theatre, Chatham Kent ME4 4SE

Five day workshop with a performance on the last day. Great opportunity for the new company members to meet and get to know each other and to bond with existing members.

Moves Youth Dance Company
In September 2008 a group of year 8 students from Bradfields School formed their own youth dance company called MOVES. With the help of Loop Dance Company they have choreographed their own unique dance pieces based on their perceptions of what ‘moves’ or inspires them as well as reflecting on the different sports in the disability games to help create movement. MOVES will tour their exciting programme of dance in a number of venues; click here for tour dates.
